Commemorating the 5th anniversary of Samuel’s passing, Martin Leib, his father and trustee of the charity, is keen to see as many people involved in fundraising events as possible, with the support of Bannatyne.
Through a variety of sporting events, members and staff of the Bannatyne clubs will be fundraising to help support the well-known, local charity, run by Martin. Some of the challenging events include London’s 10k Winter Run, the London to Paris bike ride and various Tough Mudder events.
Members will be putting the Bannatyne facilities to good use to ensure they’re fighting fit and on top form for the activities they are participating in.
Samuel’s Charity was set up in 2013 in memory of Samuel Leib, who sadly passed away from a rare cancer called Precursor Non-Hodgkins T-Cell Lymphoma, and has raised more than £190,000 to date. Throughout Samuel’s stay at St George’s Hospital, London, he asked his dad to help him raise some money to buy the other children nice meals and gifts to brighten their days.
Martin said: “As you can imagine, Samuel’s Charity is everything to me. I try my best to arrange exciting fundraising events that people can really get stuck into and The Bannatyne Group is the perfect partnering organisation to do this with.
“I can’t thank the members and staff enough for everything they’ve done to support the cause and I’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to us over the years, your kindness will never be forgotten.”
Tim Morffew, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Bannatyne South, said: “Samuel’s Charity is a fantastic organisation and the work it does is truly inspirational.
“It’s a good fit because the fundraising events are physically demanding and enable our members and staff to really push themselves.
“I’m humbled that Martin took the time to consider our company as a partner and we’re delighted to be able to support the cause in any way we can.”
